Role and Responsibilities

As Sales and Marketing Director at Meadow Ridge, Ann Sertl spearheads community occupancy efforts by cultivating authentic connections and personalized engagement with potential residents, families and professional partners.

Industry Expertise

Ann brings two decades of senior living experience to her role. Starting at Meadow Ridge in 2002 as a part-time receptionist, she swiftly transitioned to a full-time marketing position, later assuming roles as move-in coordinator and eventually sales counselor. After working in other Benchmark Senior Living communities, Ann returned to Meadow Ridge in 2021.

Passion for Senior Care

Ann’s favorite thing about working in the senior living industry is the connection to people. “I missed the residents. I missed sitting with them in the hall,” she says. “These are relationships and I feel like coming back, I got this gift—to see these people (again).”

Career Journey

After a brief stint at another continuing care retirement community in 2007, she joined Benchmark Senior Living in her hometown of Fairfield, CT, then transferred to a community in Hamden, CT. When offered the opportunity to return to Meadow Ridge in 2021, Ann eagerly accepted, citing a strong connection to the community.

Milestones

A University of Connecticut graduate with a degree in horticulture, Ann was a stay-at-home mom with four children until 2002, when she decided to return to the workforce.

Personal Interests

When she’s not at work, Ann enjoys spending time with her adult children and her grandchildren. She loves doing anything outdoors, including biking, paddle boarding, hiking and gardening. She also enjoys cooking and reading historical fiction.
